Polin slides fuel water park’s success
A Russian water park which features waterslides manufactured and supplied by Polin has won critical acclaim.
H2O Aquapark opened in June 2013 as part of the Horizon Megacenter Mall in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, following five months of construction. The park recently won international recognition when it was awarded a ‘Golden Pony’ award from publisher Facto Edizioni and Games & Parks Industry magazine.
Turkish company Polin Waterslides supervised the design and installation of all of the waterslides and other aquatic features at the 6,000m2 (64,583ft2) water park, a process helped by the opening of a regional office in nearby Krasnodar, Russia. "We were on-site during the entire process," said Selim Doguoglu, head of Polin’s Russian office. “That made us immediately accessible in overseeing the entire complex's construction and being able to handle any last-minute issues or problems that cropped up."
H2O's owners specifically requested that Polin include attractions that featured its resin transfer moulding technology, which is not only a useful manufacturing process but provides the finished rides with a shiny interior and exterior.
Doguoglu noted that water parks are becoming “exceptionally popular” in Russia, and it is his belief that H2O stands out in “offering slides and other features that guests love and are eager to experience".
