OpenAire lifting the roof off Oklahoma waterpark
Roof enclosures and skylights company, OpenAire is to be part of a new waterpark project in Clinton, Oklahoma, US.
Complete with a mezzanine-level playground, the 28,000sq ft (2,601sq m) Water-Zoo.com Indoor Waterpark is scheduled to open next year. It will be the area's first indoor waterpark and feature a 132ft (40.2m) x 184ft (56.1m) retractable roof enclosure by OpenAire that can be opened in warm weather.
Owned by Schumacher Investments South LLC, Water-Zoo.com will be part of a large entertainment complex complete with hotels and restaurants. A Holiday Inn Express, owned by Hotelmacher LLC, will be built beside the waterpark.
The scheme at Water-Zoo.com will join two other OpenAire projects now nearing completion: the 40,000sq ft (3,716sq m), 43ft (13m) high waterpark at Jay Peak in Vermont will be the tallest that OpenAire has built in North America, and the 86ft (26m) high, 278ft (85m) diameter Royal Marine Aquapark in Donetsk, Ukraine will be the world's largest free-standing aluminum-domed structure.
