New Polin rides for French Aqualand parks
Two of France's Aqualand waterparks - at St. Syr. Sur Mer in the south of the country and Bassin d'Arcachon on the west coast - have installed new waterslides from Polin.
Aqualand Bassin d'Arcachon has seen the arrival of two of Polin's Racer Hybrid Waterslides. The slides comprise two double-tubes configured side by side along a circular path.
After a short distance they diverge, one becoming Turbolance and the other one a bowl ride called Space Boat. Turbolance riders are propelled uphill vertically and then experience a reverse path that takes them over a bump, ending up in splash pool or a dry-out.
Space Boat riders exit into an open bowl and continue with several whirls around it before ending in a slide through the hole. Opened in mid-June, the custom built, high capacity Black Hole Turbolance ride at Aqualand St. Cyr Sur Mer is a combination of Polin's Turbo Lance and Black Hole slides.
The new slides at both parks are the first RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) -manufactured waterslides at Aqualand sites. Aqualand, part of the Aspro Group, is the biggest waterpark chain in Europe, with 13 sites across France, Portugal and Spain. Nine of them are in France.
