New MUGA for Pulse Hanson
Pulse Health & Fitness, Hanson is to boost its sport offering to the local community by opening a new MUGA (multi use games area).
The MUGA, located at the back of the Pulse Health & Fitness complex, officially opened for business from 4 July. The five court floodlit tarmac games area adds a new element to the state-of-the-art complex, which already boasts a 65 station fitness suite, two dance studios, a full size sports hall and interactive gym.
Providing an outdoor dedicated games space for activities such as tennis, netball and basketball, the MUGA will assist with delivering physical eduction curriculum to the school. Outside school hours the MUGA will be available for private hire, thus generating the school a valuable source of secondary income.
Derek Needham, senior deputy head teacher at the school said the MUGA was a good investment and hoped it would appeal to the wider community. "Adding a MUGA to our existing sports complex means we have something to offer the entire community.
"We want our facilities to become the focal point of the community, showing that we are committed to encouraging people to adopt a healthier, fitter lifetsyle."
