Life Fitness strides ahead with the 95X
Life Fitness has combined form and function in the new 95X Elliptical Cross-Trainer.
Available in July, the latest addition to the Elevation Series sports the range's signature entertainment and motivational features as well as a number of revolutionary design upgrades.
Two consoles are available – Engage™ and Inspire™ - which feature a 15in LCD touch screen with integrated TV and a 7in LCD touch screen respectively.
Both models include seamless iPod® integration allowing users to plug in and charge their iPods, control their play lists from the console and watch iPod-delivered video content.
They also feature a USB port enabling users and trainers to create and save pre-set workouts and to track progress. Customised workouts can be stored on a USB stick and plugged directly into the console. The equipment automatically reads the settings and begins the programme without the need for any data entry.
The Life Fitness Virtual Trainer, who appears on the integrated LCD screen, provides support and motivation throughout the workout. Users can choose a male or female trainer who advises on every aspect of training from describing the programmes to updating on progress.
Bob Quest, Vice President of Product Management at Life Fitness says: "We conducted a tremendous amount of research in our labs and with our clients and end users to design an elliptical cross-trainer with superior biomechanics and functionality.
"As such, the 95X features a number of upgrades to enhance user comfort. This includes larger pedals to allow users to comfortably adjust their foot position and a narrow pedal spacing (2.8in) to minimise lateral hip shifting to reduce stress on the lower back. Quiet and easy to use, the Elliptical Cross-Trainer also has resistance controls on its moving handlebars for easy adjustments during workouts.
"We’ve created a product that’s not only more comfortable to use, but also more engaging,” he concludes.
