How to coach kids, by ZigZag
ZigZag’s Activ Kids is launching a Register of Exercise Professonals (REPs) accredited two-day training course at this year’s Leisure Industry Week.
How to Coach Kids is an extension to Activ Kid’s current Child Behaviour Management course, which identifies seven behaviour and learning theories to help teachers and instructors understand behaviour changes when working with children, as well as identify considerations for delivering programmes.
The new course, which covers all the key skills needed to work with children, also includes training on health and safety issues and anatomy and physiology, as well as offering a range of physical games and drills to put into practice.
How to Coach Kids has been awarded 16 Continuing Professional Development points (CPD) by REPs, representing a substantial segment of the 24 CPD points that a Level 2 or Level 3 fitness professional must accumulate over a rolling two-year period to remain on the register.
Activ Kid’s, ZigZag’s programming arm, currently delivers more than 200 activity classes to school children across the country every week.
