The involvement by exercise management solutions company FitLinxx with Renault's Human Performance Centre has been rewarded by Renault Driver Development (RDD) Team driver Romain Grosjean being crowned F3 Euroseries champion.

The RDD programme was created in 2002 by the Renault F1 Team to identify young motorsport talent, with the ultimate aim of training them to compete at the highest levels.

As part of this commitment, the RDD Human Performance Centre - based at Renault Formula 1’s testing headquarters in Oxfordshire - started working with FitLinxx earlier this year to improve and monitor their drivers’ fitness levels.

Commenting, Daryl Coombes, Centre Manager and Team Fitness trainer, said: "Being a professional driver requires a high level of fitness in order to gain performance in the car, therefore, training is key to delivering results.

"FitLinxx’s intelligent system has most definitely helped enhance the team’s fitness levels and has also motivated our drivers to train by themselves without risking injury."

Grosjean himself said: "Being part of the RDD Programme is priceless. In a year, I have become a better driver physically and mentally as my results show.

"FitLinxx has helped the Human Performance Centre evaluate our fitness evolution very accurately and has enabled me to keep pushing myself even without my coach."

Since joining RDD, Grosjean has racked up six wins, four pole positions, six podium finishes and achieved seven fastest lap times to become the first Frenchman to win the Euroseries title since the legendary Alain Prost.
