FIBO 2006 saw the launch by Precor of two new selectorised strength lines.

Infinity Line, a new premium strength range, provides superior aesthetics, exceptional biomechanics and ultra smooth motion path. The complete new line of selectorised weight stack units and cable crossover machines is said to be ideally suited for those facilities seeking ultimate quality and a sophisticated brand to exceed member expectation.

Comprising 29 machines, Infinity incorporates a range of intuitive and highly refined features such as dual arm movement, a smooth belt system and gas assisted seat adjustment.

Attention to detail also includes a dedicated guidance and instruction area for ease of use. Jez Whitling, Sales Director UK for Precor, explains: “The function of every machine is clearly outlined with a unique colour coded design and easy to understand instructions.

“Illustrations of the muscles worked and an accompanying colour photograph of the actual body part exercised really attracts users.”

In addition, the machines carry specially designed circuit discs - which incorporate a handy towel hook - that help match the machine to the workout prescribed by the instructor. Bright yellow knobs with indented black directional arrow and tactile numbering on weight plates ensure greater clarity and guidance and the pull and twist pin add on weight selector is simple and easy to operate.

Full lumbar support is offered through the flexible seating positions with the backs on selected Infinity machines moving in line with the base of the seat. Easy adjustment to seat or pad position with carefully weighted springs on handles and levers are designed for ease of movement and ultimate member comfort.

For operators requiring a more compact and streamlined strength range, the company will also be introducing the Contura Line.

The range comprises 21 strength machines ideal for both large and smaller gyms. Whitling comments: “The simple elegant feel satisfies all kinds of members while the affordability is very appealing to budget conscious operators.”

The self-adjusting pads on selected Contura machines - such as the leg extension - give extra flexibility by simply rolling into the correct position to accommodate every body size and workout position.

Complementing both Infinity and Contura is a new range of benches for long-term weight training and IFI approval is now pending on a number of pieces from both new lines.
