Android Open Accessory functionality is now available on the Life Fitness Lifecyle Exercise Bike.
Life Fitness took a starring role at the annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco, during the keynote address to 5,000 attendees and additional viewers streaming live in 120 cities around the world. At the conference, Google launched its Android Open Accessory, designed to work across all Android devices. It was demonstrated on the Life Fitness Lifecycle exercise bike.
Google also previewed an initiative called Android@Home, which allows Android apps to discover, connect and communicate with appliances and devices in the every day lives of consumers. Chris Clawson, Life Fitness president, said: "Android devices are growing significantly as a consumer tool and we are seeking all opportunities to connect our equipment to new devices to enhance the workout experience."
