Air-based resistance equipment by Keiser for young and old

Keiser air resistance and CV equipment has been installed as part of a suite for children’s PE lessons, older club members and women. The new Xpress suite at GL1 leisure centre in Gloucester, UK, includes a timed circuit of the Keiser equipment. Business development director, Jacquie Douglas, said: "The second gym offers progression for women and older clients from toning tables to air-based resistance work. The new suite has also allowed us to open our facilities to local schools. Using the Xpress Circuit in this dedicated area means that the instructor can teach in a very controlled environment, which is not always possible in the main gym area. Douglas added: "Keiser's air equipment is unique in the marketplace offering pneumatic resistance which is kinder to joints and less intimidating for older and younger members. We now have four schools using our facilities for their PE lessons during term time." Ten Keiser air resistance machines and a variety of Keiser CV equipment were installed at the centre, along with two Functional Trainers for the Personal Training suites. The Xpress Suite, which opened in January 2013 and is operated by Aspire Sports and Cultural Trust, is currently on trial at GL1, with Aspire looking to roll this concept out to their four other centres if it is successful.
