US$52m LA Children’s Museum saved?
The US$52m Children’s Museum in Los Angeles, California, US, which was bankrupted before construction was completed, may yet be opened.
According to the LA Daily News, The City of Los Angeles has taken ownership of the 57,000sq ft museum, which filed for bankruptcy in April after it was unable to raise the funds to complete construction.
If the museum is not opened by December 2010, then the museum will have to repay the state money provided for the project.
However, the newspaper quoted councilman Richard Alarcon as saying: “We are considering a number of interesting proposals, and I hope to have something soon.”
