Total Fitness is rolling out a new concept for families throughout its health and fitness sites.
The Family Zone aims both to provide parents and children with a fun and safe environment where they can exercise together and to encourage children to take an interest in their health and wellbeing by showing that exercise can be fun.
The zone’s exercise equipment is specifically designed for adults and children and comprises hydraulic strength equipment, cross-trainers, water rowers and junior spin bikes.
All child members are provided with an induction and an individual training programme.
The Family Zone has been launched at seven clubs already and will be introduced at a further three sites shortly.
Director of health and rehabilitation, Neil Fell, said: “We are dedicated to improving the health and fitness of the younger generation – after all, they are the future.”
Total Fitness has already launched its Future Fitness Zone –- comprising a Sports Zone, Games Zone, Chill Zone, Pool Zone and Team Zone – to provide activities ranging from team sports to creative play at all of its 24 sites located throughout the UK and Ireland. Details: www.totalfitness.co.uk
