Spring opening for Copenhagen Island
Arp-Hansen Hotel Group’s 10th and largest hotel is scheduled to open in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 1 July.
The Copenhagen Island hotel will be located on a purpose-built island in the middle of Copenhagen harbour, with access bridges to the waterfront.
The hotel will comprise 326 rooms – some allergy-friendly – and a business centre with eight conference rooms catering for up to 90 people. Leisure facilities will include a fitness centre, a sauna, a spa pool and The Harbour restaurant.
Architect Kim Utzon has designed the hotel to maximise the amount of interior natural light and to provide uninterrupted views of Copenhagen port.
A seven-storey glass tower will feature a top-floor viewing platform – accessed by two glass lifts – and 4m windows in the top-floor rooms.
The Arp-Hansen Hotel Group’s nine privately owned hotels are located in Copenhagen and Gentofte, Denmark. Details: www.arp-hansen.com
