Sport England searches for new chief exec
Sport England has commissioned KPMG to search for a new chief executive following Derek Casey's resignation last month.
Casey resigned following Richard Caborn's appointment as Sports Minister in the post-election reshuffle. Casey, who was chief executive for six years, had planned to leave next year but decided to bring the date forward a enable a new person to 'take on the long-term task of bringing new structures' to Sport England.
Sport England chair, Trevor Brooking, says the post is one of the top sporting jobs in the country: We are looking to appoint an innovative, dynamic person with excellent business skills and a passion for all sport and its potential to contribute to social inclusion, he says.
An advertisement for the post will appear in the national press from this Sunday, 29 July.
