Northwest theme for Boulder Beach waterpark
Cedars, pines, aspens, boulders and moose – all themeing in the new Boulder Beach waterpark in Athol, Idaho.
The waterpark, which opened in the States on Independence day, has been built alongside the existing Silverwood theme park and is the brainchild of Silverwood owner Gary Norton who wanted to create a park that mirrored the Idaho countryside.
There are four areas at the waterpark: Polliwog park, Elkhorn Creek, Rumble Falls and Big Moose Bay featuring a wave pool, which, as Idaho doesn’t have any water with waves in it, Norton hopes will be a big draw for the locals.
As well as a 2,230 sq. metre wave pool, Boulder Beach contains a 322 metre lazy river, four slides, an interactive water play structure with six slides and a snack bar. In Polliwog Park, which is the children’s area, a giant fortress features water cannons, geysers, water wheels and a 580 gallon dump waterfall.
The park was designed and delivered by Whitewater.
