New trust to operate Cotswold Water Park
The operation of Cotswold Water Park on the Gloucestershire-Wiltshire border has been officially transferred to a new charitable trust.
Last October, it was resolved that the Cotswold Water Park Society would be replaced by the new Cotswold Water Park Trust. All former board members have now resigned. The nomination of seven trustees have been accepted to join Zoe Greenwell and the interim trust's chair, Dr Simon Pickering, as part of the change in management.
With 150 lakes, the attraction provides a number of leisure activities including angling, guided walks, sailing and golf. The site also features four nature reserves. Former society chair Brian Atfield said: "The board took its responsibilities seriously, undertook a thorough review and restructure of the organisation and now that this has been completed, the board has resigned."
Dr Pickering added: "This is the right way forward for the organisation and I look forward to working with new trustees to ensure its focus returns to improving the Cotswold Water Park for all."
