New attraction for Avalanche Bay waterpark
A new, signature attraction has opened at US indoor waterpark Avalanche Bay, at Boyne Mountain, Michigan.
Called Splasherhorn, the Alpine village-themed feature contains 800 gallons of water and more than 40 interactive water effects across a number of levels.
These include pipe falls, water blasters, sprayers, jets, water wheels and a sound-activated bucket tower that rumbles before it releases water.
Indoor waterpark director, Brenda Walli, said: “Splasherhorn is a spectacular attraction for Avalanche Bay, delivering an aquatic experience for all ages and allowing us to raise the bar for waterpark enthusiasts.”
Custom designed by KoalaPlay Group in partnership with aquatic design firm Water Technology, who initially conceived Avalanche Bay, Splasherhorn joins existing attractions at the 88,000 sq ft (8,175sq m) waterpark such as a surf simulator, toboggan, tube slides, a lazy river, climbing walls and a mega arcade.
