Invicta to open first club indigo in Europe
Invicta Leisure is continuing the rollout of its club indigo brand with the announcement that it has leased a 35,000 sq ft site in the German Port of Kiel.
The development, Invicta's first club outside of the UK, will be on the third and fourth floors of the Sophienhof shopping centre and is expected to open in Autumn 2002.
The shopping centre attracts visitor numbers is excess of 45,000, rising to 80,000 at peak times.
Invicta was chosen following a selection process by the Sophienhof and total investment, including the shopping centre's contribution, will be £5m (EUR 8M).
The club will feature facilities in common with club indigo in the UK, but will place a greater emphasis on spas and treatments to suit the German marketplace, including body therapy, massage and vichy shower.
Chief executive of Invicta Leisure, Kevin McCollum, said, 'The Kiel catchment area totals some 500,000 inhabitants and this new club indigo will be the only premium offer in the area.'
