Gyms add body composition analysis and health screening to their offering following pandemic
The pandemic has thrown a new focus on health, with sales of body composition analysis equipment at an all-time high, as InBody’s Francesca Cooper explains.
Fitness operators are starting to promote health screening as a package and bolt-on to their membership or working with local medical practices to offer a monthly screening check. This has expanded the service and data they can offer.
Using the InBody app to deliver these services means data is available to customers immediately to share with their GP or medical professional.
We’ve seen our gym operator customers wanting to reignite the purpose and awareness of InBody within their clubs. This means the InBody equipment has taken on a new lease of life and rather than being tucked away in a corner, clubs are now offering it as a zone in its own right.
The public are also now aware that screening is very important.
We’ve also seen clubs building InBody zones offering a full health screen appointment.
This is such a shift of focus and one that’s really demonstrating how the industry wants to support the NHS and the public with membership offerings. This is going far beyond what people expect of a gym and that is really exciting to see.
InBody has been working hard during the lockdown and post-lockdown to not only help prepare existing customers but also to help new customers.
Health has finally become the focus. Everyone is looking for ways to improve and InBody is that improvement. InBody’s goal is to simplify the understanding of health and help educate people to lead healthier lives. It’s no surprise the company is seeing a boost in interest.
Other kitInBody not only offers body composition products, but as part of their expertise and medical validated products, they also offer blood pressure monitors (BPBIO range), that have been more in demand this year, while the InBody PUSH, a portable height measurement device, has also been selling strongly.
New branded booths showcasing the device and offering privacy and social distancing, have been redesigned to accompany the composition devices and create a professional feel.
InBody Academy
The end of September will see the launch of the InBody Academy, an online education portal, available for InBody customers, offering extensive learning in relation to InBody products and how they work in terms of result interpretation, as well as offering ongoing support and education.
InBody has shifted gear and customers new and existing can see that. InBody has always been a partner, not simply a supplier to the industry and although the pandemic has been tough for everyone, InBody has remained in place supporting and working with its operators.
