Gymbox launches home gym design and build service
Boutique operator Gymbox has launched a new service, giving consumers the opportunity to take their at-home fitness solutions to the next level by owning their own bespoke Gymbox space.
The home gym design and build service, called Home Sweat Home, will see Gymbox's project teams create at-home fitness spaces in line with the operator's brand values.
While each space will be bespoke to the client's needs, each will have the feel of a Gymbox space – featuring the chain's trademark combination of design, top of the range equipment, lighting and audio solutions.
According to Rory McEntee, Gymbox's brand and marketing director, the idea for the concept has come from the increased demand for people – deprived of inspiring gym spaces due to the lockdowns – to have their own, bespoke training spaces.
"The fitness at home market has seen significant growth and we are seeing increased demand for top quality kit and home gyms," McEntee said.
"We have a reputation for building unique workout experiences, so our view is that if you can’t come to Gymbox for your physical and mental fitness needs right now, we’ll bring Gymbox to you."
Speaking exclusively to HCM, Marc Diaper, Gymbox CEO, added: "The pandemic has enabled us to take a step back and look at our future strategy.
"We're confident that the bricks and mortar business will return – mainly because humans are a social bunch and our gyms are more than just gyms, they are an experience. We offer live DJs, nightclub-designed interiors and unique and creative classes in London – and that is something we will continue to evolve.
"However, we feel the pandemic has enabled us to innovate and there are opportunities for us to expand our services.
"We launched Home Sweat Home today and we've already received nearly 100 enquiries."
The launch of Home Sweat Home comes just days after Gymbox announced it was entering the hospitality space with the signing of a deal to deliver in-room exercise sessions to guests staying at citizenM hotels around the world.
Diaper said that having added the at-home design and hospitality services, the company is now looking at other new markets.
"We feel there are opportunities in the corporate and residential development markets as well," he said.
"We're in conversation with some of London's largest developers, which provide fitness facilities as part of their residential projects. We're in talks with developers who might not have enough space for a full-service Gymbox, but would like us to act as consultants and take on the design and build of their gym facilities.
"We're also looking at a similar model with businesses, which have space available for providing workplace wellness facilities.
"The plan there is to work in partnership with companies to create more inspiring spaces for employees to work out, with the aim of introducing the traditional non-gym users to the Gymbox experience at work"
