Flame Awards to move for 2009 as part of events shake-up
FitPro has teamed up with the FIA to offer a new industry event, the FIA Business Conference.
The conference will replace the current FitPro Business Conference, and will also incorporate the FIA Industry Summit. The FLAME awards will also be moved to this event, to be held in June – the awards ceremony will be the culmination of the two-day programme.
Andy Jackson, business development director of FitPro, said: “We felt the time was right for the FIA to take responsibility for this conference and, as such, we are happy to hand over the FitPro Business Conference to the FIA.”
Andrée Deane, CEO of the FIA, said: “Following informal consultations, we felt that the optimum use of our members’ valuable time would be to streamline the FIA events and ensure that they all happen at the same time.”
Dave Stalker, FIA operations director, added: “We feel that the new format will benefit the industry as a whole.
"A large part of the FIA's mission is to drive industry standards across the board and so in this, our first conference, we feel it is appropriate that we challenge operators in all sectors of the industry to step up to the mark.”
Running alongside the Industry Summit, the FIA Conference 2009 will include a variety keynotes, general sessions, seminars, workshops, roundtables, evening forums, network breakfasts and receptions.
