Fitness industry to boom as Europeans get fatter
A new report from market analyst Datamonitor has found that European consumers are gradually becoming heavier and more out of shape.
The report, Diet, Exercise and Physical Appearance, also states that at the same time media images, which continually reinforce the concept of the ideal body, have driven a strong interest in shape management and developing a toned figure.
Analysts found that feeling good, toning muscle and losing weight are the most common reasons for exercising, but found that exercise is usually done out of a sense of duty.
