FIA and Matrix announce winners of 2012 Flame Awards

The winners of the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) and Matrix Flame Awards for 2012 have been announced at the Ball of Fire - the finale of the annual Flame Conference.
An audience of 800 delegates from across the UK health and fitness industry attended the ceremony, which took place at Sheffield's Ponds Forge International yesterday (27 June).
The full list of winners of the FIA and Matrix Flame Awards 2012:
• LivingWell Health Club in Maidstone, Kent - Club of the Year (under 1,000 members)
• Chartham Park Golf and Country Club, West Sussex - Club of the Year (1,000-3,000 members)• Benton Hall Golf and Country Club, Essex - Club of the Year (over 3,000 members)
• Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, Stowmarket - Centre of the Year• Ethos Sports Centre, London - Educational Club of the Year (Universities)
• Featherstone Sports Centre, Southall - Educational Club of the Year (Schools/Colleges)• HSBC Fitness and Wellbeing Centre - Corporate Club of the Year
• Donna Hubbard of Gymophobics - Future of Flame• Everyone Active's Everyone Active Online - Spark of Innovation (Operator)
• YMCAfit and Aspire's Instructability - Spark of Innovation (Supplier)• The Club Company - Health Club Operator of the Year

The Flame Awards have been delivered by the FIA for more than 15 years and are designed to celebrate excellence and best practice in the health and fitness sector.
FIA CEO David Stalker said: "I say it every year but the standards of the competition really have been so high; it's becoming virtually impossible to narrow the finalists down.
"In many of the categories it has been so, so close; this is a really encouraging sign of how strong our industry is, and how high the standards of operation and customer care are across the board."
