DC Leisure to manage Wandsworth sites
DC Leisure has had its management contract for seven of Wandsworth Council's leisure facilities renewed.
The new deal will run for eight years and begin this month. It will see more than £6m will be spent developing and refurbishing the facilities at Tooting, Putney, Latchmere and Balham Leisure Centres, Tooting Bec Lido and Wandle and Roehampton Recreation Centres.
DC Leisure has operated the sites since 2000.
Peter Robinson, acting deputy director of leisure and amenities at the council, said: “The contract was put out to tender and DC Leisure was best placed to meet all our criteria.
"During the last six years, we have worked in partnership to enhance the leisure offering in the borough, increase activity levels, and in turn, improve health and wellbeing within the local community. I am sure that extending DC Leisure’s contract for a further term will enable us to build on this strong foundation.”
Tom Goodhand, regional director for DC Leisure, added: “We have enjoyed an excellent partnership with our client over the last six years, and I’m delighted that this is set to continue. We have already seen considerable investment in these sites and are committed to providing the highest quality facilities and levels of service.”
