Bungee Workout launches onto UK market
Bungee Workout, which offers group fitness classes utilising the increasingly popular, acrobatics-style indoor bungee technology, has launched on the UK market.
Fusing movement and fitness techniques with flight and suspension, members wear a harness that is attached to a specifically designed bungee at the back of their body so they can move freely with no restrictions in front of them.
The tension in the bungee enables participants to move and fly dynamically exploring lift, flight, bounce and power.
Each bungee is adjustable for different body types and abilities making it a weightless workout.
The use of bungee cords and ropes are a recent fitness trend and, according to Wendy Hesketh-Ogilvie, Bungee Workout creator, the latest entrant has added some unique aspects.
"Around 17 years ago, Wired Aerial Theatre created a technique which allowed people to move dynamically on bungees," Hesketh-Ogilvie said.
"What we have done is redevelop that technique to bring it to the fitness industry.
"We spent years dedicated to developing a refined and revolutionary technique – using quality bespoke equipment – which ensures a safe yet sensational experience."
The bungees can be installed into a studio environment, leisure facility or gym. The classes are supported by instructor training, music and choreography – and the Bungee Workout fitness team will deliver REPs-accredited certified training and work out development for trainers.
Jacqui Hobbs, education consultant at Bungee Workout added: “This workout is addictive and absorbing and has been designed to drive member results, retention and return on reach.
"In an industry constantly searching for the next best fitness experience, this is something truly unique."
