Broster joins LA Fitness as COO
Stuart Broster has been appointed chief operating officer at LA Fitness.
He will also become a board member and has bought a stake in the company.
Tasked with taking LA Fitness “back to basics”, Broster is expected to drive a consistent policy across the whole group to ensure all clubs perform to the highest possible standard.
Broster brings with him a wealth of experience in the leisure sector at ground, executive and board level and returns to the health and fitness industry after five years’ absence.
Previously, he worked as operations director at Macdonald Hotels and president and vice president of operations for Hilton, Canada.
From 1997 to 2001 he was managing director of LivingWell Health Clubs where he took the company from a turnover of £10m to £80m and saw it expand worldwide.
He was also an executive board member of the FIA and chair of the Board of Government Fitness Industry Alliance.
“I have spent much of my first two months meeting LA Fitness staff and members in the clubs,” he said.
“It’s through their feedback and my own experience that I will look to implement changes across the key business areas to develop our product, people, price and quality.”
