Brian McGorry to launch first Executive Fitness Clinic
Former professional footballer Brian McGorry, who played for Cardiff, Bournemouth and Peterborough, has announced plans to open an exclusive fitness centre in Liverpool this spring.
McGorry, a personal trainer and lecturer in sport physiology, psychology and biomechanics at The University of Central Lancashire, is investing more than £700,000 in his first Executive Fitness Clinic.
The purpose-built, 10,000sq ft (930sq m) healthy living centre will span three floors and feature a fitness suite, boxing ring, sauna and steamrooms, an altitude chamber and a café. Gym equipment will be supplied by LifeFitness and the clinic will offer the Fitlinxx training system.
Located in The Old Haymarket in Liverpool’s business district, the clinic aims to attract a select membership of 750 office workers, with classes timetabled before and after the working day and during lunch hours. There will also be full-time personal trainers and a health check service, including a blood testing facility.
Members will also be able to benefit from a laundry service and healthy takeaway lunches will be available from the café.
McGorry plans to roll out his Executive Fitness Clinics across Merseyside. He said: “A healthy lifestyle is more than just exercising. Our expert trainers are Olympic-accredited and will give an objective training plan based on existing health and fitness levels.” Details: www.executivefitnessclinics.com
