Blue Harbor Resort and spa to open for summer
A new luxury spa at the $54m (£28.5m) Blue Harbor Resort & Conference Centre, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, is to open 1 June.
The 3,200sq ft spa, called Elements, is an Aveda concept spa and has been constructed following the art of Feng Shui and consists of a private serenity room, eight treatment rooms and a full-service unisex hair salon.
Treatments will be provided by Aveda and include aromatherapy, facials, manicures and body wraps and waxes.
Yvette Frasier has been appointed as spa consultant, lending 20 years of experience which has seen her win awards for two existing spas in Wisconsin.
Accommodation at the 300,000sq ft beachfront resort will be available in 183 family-sized suites. Visitors to the spa can also enjoy the 40,000sq ft water park and two themed restaurants.
The complex is owned by The Great Lakes Companies which currently owns and operates 14 hotels and resorts throughout the US.
Elements will be the fourth Aveda Spa within the Great Lakes portfolio, which includes water park resorts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Kansas. Details: www.blueharborresort.com
