Bass announces Polish roll-out
Bass Hotels and Resorts has announced a 110 million-euro joint venture investment with Warimpex Finanz and UBM Vienna - to develop a new flagship hotel for Central Europe, the Hotel Inter-Continental Warsaw. The 328-room property will be Warsaw's tallest hotel, with 44 floors and will offer 78 long-stay suites. Scheduled to open in autumn 2003, the hotel will feature an executive club floor with private lounge area as well as business centre facilities. Europe's highest swimming pool will be situated on the 43rd floor. David Bland, managing director, Bass Hotels & Resorts Europe, Middle East and Africa says he hopes the hotel will attract the more discerning leisure traveller: The suites will offer a welcome alternative to serviced apartments. The Hotel Inter-Continental Warsaw will strengthen Bass Hotels & Resorts' portfolio of properties in Poland, which currently includes the Holiday Inn Warsaw, the Holiday Inn Gdansk and the Holiday Inn Wroclaw, which opened earlier this year. Future development in Poland includes the Holiday Inn Cracow City Centre, opening this summer, the Holiday Inn Warsaw Airport opening in 2002 and the Express by Holiday Inn Warsaw, which opens in spring 2002.
