The AED2.3bn (£448m, 477.2m euro, US$626m) Palazzo Versace Dubai resort on the edge of the Dubai Creek in the UAE will launch in early 2010.
The 5.5 hectare development will comprise 215 hotel suites and 169 private residences as well as restaurants and a large day spa.
The Salus Per Aquum spa will be similar in design to sister facility the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast in Australia.
The Emirates Sunland Group – a joint venture between the Sunland Group and Emirates International Holdings – will develop and manage the resort, while the House of Versace is designing interiors.
The president of the Versace Group, Santo Versace, said: “The design of the Palazzo Versace will include all the trademarks of Versace style and glamour while incorporating the needs of the local environment. This hotel will provide the ultimate destination for those wanting a taste of the Versace lifestyle within a dynamic and modern environment like Dubai.”
The first Palazzo Versace opened on the Gold Coast, Australia, in September 2000. Details: palazzoversace.ae
