énergie Group opens first ‘owned’ club

Fitness franchise énergie Group has opened its first corporately ‘owned’ health club in Ormskirk near Liverpool.

The franchise, which launched in 2003 and has more than 100 gyms across the UK, Ireland and Europe, has taken on its first club as part of its new arm to its business that will see more openings in the coming years.

The Ormskirk 5,000sq ft (465sq m) club features a cardio area with Precor equipment, a free weights area with an Olympic lifting platform, resistance equipment and a functional training zone.

The gym also has an open plan-style zone with spin HIIT classes, as well as private changing facilities.

The club will offer énergie's émpower programme which guarantees results in 30 days or customers get their money back. Monthly membership will be £29.99 (US$38.73, €34.49).

Jan Spaticchia, énergie Group chairman and chief executive, said: “The opening of énergie Fitness Ormskirk is just the start of our strategy to expand our recently created Equity Division. This new company division provides us with the opportunity to take advantage of prominent sites within the small number of territories where we may not have a franchisee. Ormskirk is a perfect example of this.

“Additionally, the expansion of the Equity Division will add an additional revenue stream and significant value to the company.”
