The leading tennis and squash racquets club in the North East is looking to appoint a new General Manager.
The General Manager is responsible both for the day to day running of the Club and is an integral part of the team devising and executing plans to develop the offering and facilities. The role involves overseeing the bar and catering functions including organising and managing all staff; successfully marketing the club to grow the playing membership; increasing the participation of members in our on-site sport offering (currently tennis, squash, badminton and fitness), and managing the facilities.
Ideal candidates will likely have good experience in a leisure centre/sports club background or equivalent experience in hospitality, leisure, catering or hotels but also have been responsible for marketing their location/venue to build income and build customer participation. (sports venue experience is not an essential requirement).
Excellent communication skills and experience of staff management are essential for this customer-facing role and a basic knowledge of accounts is also required.
Salary: £40k-£45k. (depending on experience).
Bonus: payable for successful delivery of business targets.
