Rocca Creative Thinking Limited

What we can do for you
Rocca. is a tech organisation specialising in sport and physical activity. It works with NGBs in sport, local government and the leisure sector on a global scale. It produces physical activity engagement software and apps and helps leisure organisations to integrate with third party software.

Rocca. has been involved in physical activity engagement since its launch in 2010. In 2015 it worked with the city of Sheffield to engage the public in being more active and it has partnered with key leisure businesses to enhance member engagement.

Key products and services
Rocca. designs, builds and maintains bespoke websites, software and apps for Physical Activity Engagement, Bookings, Learning and Membership Management.

It also integrates with leading membership management platforms such as Sport:80 Gladstone MRM and GoMemberships.

case study: Sheffield City Trust (formerly SIV)
Sheffield City Trust (SCT) are responsible for most of the city of Sheffield's municipal sports facilities. This includes gyms, courts, golf courses and also entertainment venues in the form of Sheffield City Hall and the Arena.

Since 2018, Rocca. has developed all of SCT's public facing technologies. The work ranges from content managed website development, to companion app publishing and point of sale.

Rocca. also integrates SCT's technologies with the Gladstone MRM membership management platform.

Rocca.has achieved considerable cost savings for the organisation by helping them to bring previously outsourced processes in house and improving the user experience generally.
case study: Blackburn with Darwen ExploreBwD app
Rocca. began work with Blackburn with Darwen Council in 2019. The authority commissioned Rocca. to produce an app which would encourage the residents of Blackburn and Darwen to explore local parks and green spaces.

The work was undertaken as part of Sport England's funding for physical activity engagement local development partnerships. The app uses Global Positioning Software (GPS) to take users around parks and green spaces, and can even be used to create personal walks.

At the back end of the platform an admin area allows the authority to deploy routes and points of interest. Importantly it provides realtime information on the activities of people in the area, split by defined demographics (ie. gender, ethnicity, disability).

Although the project was launched as a pilot it is now in ts second year and has been invaluable during the COVID19 pandemic for its users.
Plans for the next 12 months
Rocca. is releasing a string of new solutions for the leisure sector and physical activity engagement generally. These include its Active Challenge app, which motivates employees of businesses to stay active and a new club management platform for small to medium sized gyms.
