What we can do for you
Hutchison Technologies helps the UK’s leading gyms, health clubs and leisure trusts create memorable experiences their customers can’t get at home.

We do this by combining leading technology brands with our in-house product development expertise, and blending decades of experience as health and fitness technology integrators with support from our network of design consultants.

Our team brings the right technologies and people together to transform your spaces into experiences.

Key products or services
We deliver end-to-end immersive experience solutions and custom integrations using our expertise in audio visual, feature and effect lighting, access control, networking, and connectivity.

Our most iconic installations are custom immersive studios that create truly memorable audio visual experiences, but our solutions extend across the whole venue.

We also supply secure access control systems that improve member flow, speakers and lighting suitable for all areas of your building, telecoms and connectivity solutions that streamline communication and internet access, and software that creates an effortless experience by automating activity and integrating with your other systems.

case study: Places Leisure Camberley
Hutchison Technologies supported Places Leisure in creating an unforgettable member experience at their brand new, multi-million pound centre in Camberley.

- A complete AV package across entire site
- Fully immersive virtual cycling studio
- Distributed audio throughout
- iPad control and automation
- Feature & effect lighting

The vision
Places Leisure secured funding for a brand new, multi-million-pound centre in Camberley. Their vision was to bring the best of private sector leisure and fitness experiences at accessible and inclusive local authority prices. Hutchison Technologies was brought on board to support in taking this multimillion-pound project to the next level with a focus on bigger and better.

The project
The centre features a cutting-edge fitness suite equipped with the latest workout machines and a fully immersive group cycling studio. Both of these exciting facilities required AV solutions to be brought to life. Places Leisure also needed support around their access control, digital signage, TV screens and background audio, which Hutchison Technologies supplied throughout the facility.

The solution
Places Leisure’s Camberley centre now boasts best-in-class distributed audio and feature lighting solutions across their entire club, complete with a centralised iPad control for ease of use.

This is most spectacularly delivered in the Les Mills trademark Immersive Cycling Studio, complete with a large, curved video wall, sophisticated projectors, automated feature lighting and immersive sound.

We custom calibrated all audio solutions, ensuring each zone could have the right music for every setting, from the gym floor to the busy cafe.

We also supplied a range of premium screens across their fitness and function rooms to display virtual fitness classes and Freeview TV. Behind the scenes, we installed a network of cabling to power all tech solutions across this vast centre, allowing us to fully control every aspect of this tech installation to the smallest detail.

The result
“Our mission is to put our heart and soul into creating active places and healthy people - it’s about creating a place for everyone. “The partnership we have in place with Hutchison Technologies has meant that we could offer the latest and greatest AV solutions, including a fully immersive virtual group cycling studio with cinematic screen and strobe lighting effects; taking our customers on a journey through an array of digitally created worlds and gamifying their whole cycling experience.

The collaborative partnership that we have in place with Hutchison’s has been fantastic and we would recommend them to anyone who is looking to take on a similar project.”

case study: Blaze | David Lloyd Leisure
With a focus on enhancing their member experience, David Lloyd curated music, light and functional classes to develop their own in-house boutique.

- Evoson loudspeakers producing hi-fidelity audio and instructor vocals
- Dynamic feature and effect lighting to segment zones
- 9 screen video wall display featuring Myzone
- iPad Control and Automation for audio tracks and lighting show

The vision
Looking to conquer the demand for HIIT and the explosion of boutique-studios, fitness giant David Lloyd met the trend head on with their 'Blaze' concept; an instructor-led timed circuit-style workout combining cardio, martial arts and strength training.

The project
As UK and Europe-wide audio-visual specialists, we are David Lloyd Clubs preferred technology integration partner. Group Health & Fitness Manager Michelle Dand created the concept and worked with us to bring Blaze to life, making its debut as part of the spectacular refurbishment of David Lloyd Clubs Kensington Club in 2018. It has since been rolled out in over 64 clubs across the UK, including a Blaze-only studio in Birmingham.

The solution
We designed a complete audio, screen, lighting, and control solution to bring the experience to life, nurturing group interaction and empowering instructors.

High-performance Evoson loudspeakers and digital RGBW strips create a fully immersive fitness environment. Large format screens display the overall class time, timer countdowns and Myzone real-time workout data for individual motivations from instructors. Each timer is linked to lighting and audio countdown prompts, giving both exercisers and instructors complete freedom to lose themselves in the workout.

To begin a class, the instructor simply selects the class length and their choice of pre-curated tracks from an iPad, complete with a Blaze-branded graphic user interface (GUI), and the studio does the rest.

The result
“Blaze has been a spectacular success. The AV doesn’t just look and sound amazing – it’s that Hutchison Technologies really understands how behind-the-scenes functionality impacts our member experience. More engaged instructors make for happier and harder working members, which means we’re happy too!”
