case study: Third Space

In 2020, during lockdown, Third Space launched a new app giving its members exclusive access to a wide variety of on-demand and live streamed classes. The move was the result of a two-year partnership with Fisikal to enhance member experience through its digital provision.
“In the first six months, we have recorded 65,000 views of our on-demand programme, with a further 10,000 views of our live streamed classes.” Explains Richard Carroll, Senior Brand Manager at Third Space.
“A digital provision was in the planning long before Covid-19 but it fast tracked the app launch, providing our community with a means of connection to our services despite physical restrictions. Fisikal was able to respond to our new timeline and worked tirelessly to get the app up and running.”
Third Space commissioned Fisikal to develop a fully branded app back in 2018, recognising a growing consumer demand for anytime, anywhere access to fitness services. In addition to class content and bookings, the app enables the scheduling and payment of personal training sessions, with access to more than 350 exercise demonstrations and 100 workouts.
Richard continues: “Digitalising our bookings has not only enhanced the member experience, it also provided better user flow analytics, giving clarity on member behaviours enabling us to make informed programming and operational adjustments.
“In our next phase, we intend to refresh the front-end design and work with Fisikal to create an in-app, two-way communications channel to provide our members with an intuitive, single access point for all information, coaching and training support, available anytime, anywhere. We will continue to invest in our digital provision, viewing it as a vital complementary service to our in-club provision.”

case study: Frame

When facing lockdown restrictions, FRAME adapted its in-club experience to an online offering. This included integrating with Fisikal, experts in digital business solutions, to ensure a seamless digitalisation of the business and a website for studio, on-demand and live-stream classes.
FRAME co-founder, Pip Black, explains: “We had been considering online workouts but lockdown made us leap to digitalisation quickly. Having launched Frame 11 years ago, our technology was a ‘filo pastry’ of multiple layers and needed to be simplified and restructured. This is where Fisikal came in.”
“Thanks to Fisikal, we can now house our studio, on-demand and live-stream class schedules all in one place. We have streamlined our payments and bookings through Fisikal’s one solution, which has already provided significant savings, both in software and professional fees.”
This project also involved Fisikal developing bespoke functionalities for FRAME including: dynamic pricing of the ‘Frame Card’, a pre-paid top-up option via the member portal; the interactive option for Framers to tag classes by moods and a waterfall filtration system so members could find classes based on FRAME filters.
“Fisikal has helped future-proof our business.” FRAME co-founder, Joan Murphy, adds. “We have had so much feedback to say how our digital classes got members through some really dark days of lockdown. Digital options allow us to reach more people, in the UK and globally, and will be an important part of our brand moving forwards.”
Rob Lander, Fisikal CEO comments: “The FRAME team can now engage not only current, studio members but also Framers internationally. And the great thing is, we can always add more exciting functionality in the future as their digital offering, and the needs of their members, evolve.”
