Rugby coach opens fitness club in Llanelli
The Grange Health and Fitness Club has opened in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire and is well on target for signing 1,000 members.
More than 600 people have already signed up to the 10,000sq ft club, which has been developed by local businessmen, Peter Herbert and Simon Montinaro.
A former fitness coach for the Llanelli Rugby Football Club and the Welsh rugby team, Herbert said the premium club is a first for Llanelli.
“There is nothing offering this quality of facilities in the area – the nearest club of this kind is 20 mile away,” he said.
Built on the site of a former car showroom, the £500,000 facility includes a gym, an exercise studio running around 30 classes per week, a hair and beauty salon, treatment rooms and a health spa with spa bath, sauna and steamroom. Sunbeds, a resident chartered physiotherapist and a continental café/bar complete the offer.
Targeting the local population, membership costs between £25 and £35 a month with a joining fee of £100.
This is the first club for the two partners, but Herbert has not ruled out further expansion should the Llanelli facility prove successful.
