Leisure trust to roll-out spa concept?
Pendle Leisure Trust (PLT) has revealed that the Inside Spa public sector spa concept could be rolled-out further, following its success at Pendle Wavelengths in Nelson, Lancashire.
Trust chief executive Phil Storey told Leisure Management (Issue 3, 2011) that plans to expand the spa brand into neighbouring boroughs are now being considered. Satellite treatment rooms in other facilities are also being proposed as a result of the success of the Pendle Wavelengths, which was expanded at a cost of £220,000 earlier this year.
Existing facilities included a sauna and heat therapy and salt inhalation rooms, with four new treatment rooms; a manicure and pedicure bar; and a large relaxation area now added. Storey told Leisure Management: "Inside Spa provides a very good business model, which in turn is helping to reduce the overall costs of leisure in Pendle.
"We are now considering taking the brand to neighbouring boroughs and setting up satellite treatment rooms in other facilities." Read how Pendle Wavelengths' Inside Spa has become a success in Leisure Management (Issue 3, 2011) - pp. 34-38: www.leisuremanagement.co.uk/a.cfm?a=R9E1X
